David Beckham said his former team will have to beat one of the best teams that has ever played the game.
"When you watch them, they've got a lot of talent on their team but when you watch them work that's even more impressive as well," Beckham said after a recent LA Galaxy training session. "Without a doubt they will go down as one of the best teams ever."
Real Madrid could do no better than a draw in the first of four Clasicos the teams will play against one another. Saturday, Real Madrid overcame a deficit and a man disadvantage and tied Barcelona 1-1 in league play at Estadio Bernabau. Wednesday, the bitter rivals will meet in the Copa Del Rey final Wednesday before the two meet again at Bernabau on April 27 in a Champions League semifinal.
Barcelona has done well to charge through Spain's La Liga as well as into the Copa Del Rey final and the Champions League, and the club has won over Beckham in the process.
"Anyone who loves the game loves to see the way Barcelona are playing," Beckham said. "They've got a great manager (in Josep Guardiola). I've always said he's a talented person. He was a talented player and is obviously a talented manager."
